While we explore the construction of our kitset shelter, in the back of our minds we are also thinking about how long the end design will take to put together. So on Wednesday we decided to time how long it would take to put one of the hexagons together using split pins.

The end result was a completed hexagon in under 10 minutes – with three to put together we are looking at at least half and hour for completing the three. On Saturday we are having a friend put together the structure; it will be interesting to see how long someone not involved with the design process will take to put this part of the structure together.
